The Dr. Thomas and Diane Todd Family Glendale Gaslight Fund honors the lives of two individuals who chose to make Glendale their home, raising their children (Susan, Andy and Michael) and continuously serving in many capacities the Village of Glendale families and beyond. Dr. Tom served as Glendale Mayor for eight years and as a family practice physician to Glendale and surrounding areas for 56 years. Diane, lovingly by her husband’s side, managed the family practice, raised their family and taught them to serve their community, love nature, and always enjoy a healthy, competitive spirit. With a sparkle always in his eyes and smiles on both of their faces, Doc Tom and Diane’s spirits will always light up their beloved Glendale.

Charming gas-lit streets populate every area of the historic Village of Glendale. The gaslights lend to the beautiful, serene ambiance of the winding streets throughout the village. Since Glendale’s founding in 1851, the Glendale gaslights have lit the way home for over 175 years. With an inventory of over 150 gaslights, it requires a commitment by the village, residents and friends of Glendale to maintain and restore them so they’ll continue guiding all who frequent Glendale for another 175 years and beyond.
