Glendale War Memorial Landscape Renovation
The Glendale War Memorial honors all the men and women, former and current residents of the Village of Glendale who’ve served their country and given their lives for the United States of America.
The War Memorial has served as the backdrop on Memorial Day when the Village of Glendale honors its fallen and recognizes its residents who willingly give of themselves to serve their country. The singing of The National Anthem and the playing of Taps as well as a 21-gun salute and an essay written and read by a local student is the finale of Glendale’s Memorial Day parade that weaves its way through the curvilinear streets that created this charming and historical town nestled amongst a tree canopy.
Over the years, the landscaping surrounding the war memorial has deteriorated and is in need of regular maintenance. The Glendale Legacy Foundation has partnered with the Village of Glendale Council and Administration in its desire to maintain the war memorial and the surrounding landscape in honor of those who’ve served. The Glendale Legacy Foundation invites all Glendale residents, current and past, to join us in support of this effort.
The cost to renovate and maintain the landscape surrounding the war memorial is $55,000. Gifts of all sizes are welcome. The Glendale Legacy Foundation welcomes all who would like to support this project. Gifts to the Glendale Legacy Foundation earmarked for the War Memorial are tax deductible.
